Spent $7,000 on a solar system from here a few years ago and Kawika and his crew were great. Unfortunately, the $700 dollar self-contained battery that they sold only lasted 3 years instead of the promised ten. When we bought new batteries and connected them using the system they set up and instructions from the shop one of the terminals melted in less than a month. When we took it back to the shop the guy (not Kawika) told us we must've hooked it up wrong even though we followed his directions and used the wiring that they set up in the first place. They refused to exchange the battery and we had to take it back to the interstate battery store in Hilo (where the same batteries are sold cheaper btw). Be wary of their advice and be warned that they don't back up their products if something were to go wrong. We were planning on buying several more panels and batteries from them for our final install on our roof, but now we'll take our business elsewhere. Unfortunately, we're probably better off going with another vendor.
Let me start by saying if you value your money don't spend it here. You will get ignored forgotten about. I spent $6700 at this store and a week later owner didn't know who I was. I had to chase him down to get every part I ordered even after giving him the time he needed to get it together. I still had to go to Inter island solar and pick it up myself. I got no info on what I bought so couldn't answer electricians questions. Got a hand written receipt with next to no info on it. He was full of excuses why stuff wasn't ready but I picked it up in 15 mins. Business is run terrible to bad for good employee Shawn. Go to inter island solar if you want service and value.
Don’t buy from this “store”. I bought batteries there. Jeremy said they’d last 7 to 10 years. Went to get them because he said he had some... when I got to his store he said he doesn’t have them in stock and I needed to drive to Hilo to get them. Batteries Lasted 5 months. I took them back and jeremy lied to my face and said they were fine. He said 12 v is good. Called company and they said should be 14.4. They refused to do other tests I needed to return. Now I’m stuck off grid with little to no power till I can afford new batteries. Worst service I’ve ever experienced.
